eThekwini Metro©onnect is a connectivity service that provides the equivalent of leased line performance, which is up to 60% more affordable than Telco equivalents.
Established as part of Durban City’s broader fibre-optic project, Metro©onnect runs on the eThekwini Municipality’s Next Generation Network, effectively opening it up to ISPs like MWEB Business. This creates a stable, high-speed, low-cost means of connecting customers with the MWEB Business point of presence in Durban, to provide affordable VPN or Internet connectivity. |

Based on a Carrier Ethernet services framework, eThekwini Metro©onnect uses Last Mile infrastructure to provide point-to-point, point-to-multipoint or multipoint-to-multipoint connectivity between MWEB Business and its customers.
Metro©onnect is flexible to the customer’s needs which lends itself to connect multiple business sites and support multiple types of traffic, such as: data, voice and video. Metro©onnect is completely scalable, to adapt to the customer’s connectivity needs and is available in bandwidth increments ranging between 512Kbps to 100Mbps. |
